This week will feature Alexandria native, Billy Lescher.

Billy Lescher, RHP

NVTBL program: Potomac Cardinals

High School: West Potomac

College: Penn

Current team: A-West Michigan Whitecaps (Detroit Tigers)  

Last appearance: 8/30: Save (7), 2 IP, 3 K vs. Dayton

2018 Totals at A-West Michigan: 18 games, 28.2 IP, 0.94 ERA, 31 K, 3-1 record, 7-for-9 in save opportunities     

Notable: Named second-team all-conference his senior year at West Potomac. Made two appearances his freshman year at Penn. Went 5-3 with 39 strikeouts in 42.1 innings his sophomore season. Compiled a scoreless streak of 11.2 innings and led the Quakers with 16 appearances and four saves his junior year. Drafted in the 17th round in the 2017 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers. Recorded five saves in six opportunities with a 2.45 ERA in 17 games in the Gulf Coast League last summer. Invited to 2018 Spring Training with the Tigers and was assigned to A-West Michigan to start the 2018 season. Has held opponents to a .196 batting average this season and is tied for the team lead with seven saves. Has allowed just one earned run with 15 strikeouts in his last 11.1 innings.
