Every week NVTBL will spotlight a former player who is now playing professional baseball and showcase where they are playing now and highlight their career accomplishments.

This week features former Metro Senator, Tyler Ratliff.

High School: T.C. Williams

College: Marshall University

Current team: A-Hickory Crawdads (Texas Rangers)

Last appearance: 8/23: 0-for-4, RBI, R vs. Greenville (2018 Totals at A-Hickory: 87 games, .219 avg., 8 HR, 26 RBI)   

Notable: Ratliff was a four-year varsity starter at T.C. Williams and was awarded All-District and All-Region honors his senior year. Named to the ABCA Mideast All-Region Second Team after batting .327 with 47 RBI his sophomore season at Marshall. Led Thundering Herd with 53 runs scored his junior season. Two-time Conference-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient. Drafted in the 17th round by the Rangers in the 2017 MLB Draft following his junior season. Started 2018 campaign at A-Hickory after playing 57 games last year in the Arizona Fall League (Rookie) and the Northwest League (A). Homered in consecutive games for the Crawdads in July. Went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored earlier this week on Aug. 20.
