This week features McLean native, Josh Sborz.

Josh Sborz, RHP

College: University of Virginia

Current team: AAA-Oklahoma City Dodgers (Los Angeles Dodgers)

Last outing: 8/2: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 K vs. Tacoma (Totals at AAA: 32.1 IP, 3.90 ERA, 39 K)

Notable: Sborz was a two-time All-Met selection and named Virginia State Player of the Year in 2012 at McLean. Finished seventh in UVA history with 80 career appearances. His 14 career NCAA tournament appearances are the most in program history and his four College World Series wins rank second all-time in CWS history. Named CWS Most Outstanding Player after throwing 13 scoreless innings with a 3-0 record and a save during UVA’s title run in 2015. Drafted with the 74th overall pick by the Dodgers in the 2015 MLB Draft. Promoted to AAA-Oklahoma City on May 10, 2018. Has a 3.28 career ERA with 294 strikeouts in 107 minor league games. Currently on 7-day disabled list retroactive Aug. 3.
