June 11 - There was no shortage of excitement over the weekend with the conclusion of NVTBL’s End of Season tournaments across the the 8-12u age divisions. After rain washed out first round play on June 3, the weather cooperated just enough for each tournament bracket to be played over the weekend.

The action included a walk-off double to clinch the 9u championship, three final games decided by one run, two teams winning three times on Sunday en route to clinching their respective titles and plenty of clutch performances highlighted below.

Here is the list of champions:

Stars Arnold 7, Aldie Senators 6

Brady Card went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored while Tyson Barber and Conner Rauss combined to score four runs to lead the Stars. Bobby Arnold received the win after striking out four in 1.2 innings and Devin Perry recorded the final seven outs. The Stars beat the Fauquier Freeze, 13-5, and then the Loudoun Aces, 9-8, on Saturday before knocking off the Senators on Sunday.

9U Championship

Loudoun Aces Blue 3, Fauquier Raiders 2

Will Clarke’s two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning scored both Noah Blubaugh and Landon McGinn to lift the Aces over the Raiders in walk-off fashion. McGinn also pitched two scoreless innings and Jack Mehlberg and Tyler Wolovich combined to allow one run on three hits in the final four innings in relief. The Aces defeated the Virginia Stars Lusk, 10-6, and the Blue Ridge Senators, 10-9, to reach the championship game.
